The default version of Netscape on rcf2.rhic.bnl.gov is Netscape 4.7x. It is available via the CDE desktop or in /usr/local/bin/netscape.

For those that wish to use a newer version of Netscape, version 7.0 is available on rcf2.rhic.bnl.gov as /usr/dt/appconfig/SUNWns/netscape. However, there are issues to which you will need to pay attention. First is the migration of preferences. Second is the handling of email (if you are using Netscape to read your email). These issues are discussed in this document.

Users are urged to read the documentation before moving to Netscape 7.0
