Abstract for "The PHOBOS File Catalog and Distributed Disk" by Maarten Ballintijn (PHOBOS/MIT)

The PHOBOS File Catalog and disk pool manager will be presented. After discussing the goals and constraints on the project its architecture will be explained. The choices of the technologies will be motivated and the experience with the system so far will be presented. Finally the plans for the system, including the role of distributed disk and the PROOF system will be discussed.
