Warning, the web interface to email at the RCF uses IMAP. If you normally do not access mail with an IMAP client, reading your mail via the web interface will result in the creation of a separate email archive that is not accessible from your normal email client.

The web interface to RCF Email allows you to access your email using just an web browser. This interface is provided for "emergency" use only and should not be relied upon for daily access to your email. The web based service is provided " AS-IS " and availability of this web interface is subject to review in the future.

To access the Web interface to mail, follow these instructions:

1. Using a web browser, access the secure web server on rcf.rhic.bnl.gov by using the URL https://webmail.rhic.bnl.gov.
2. Read the warning message. Make sure you understand the risks and limitations of the email system.
3. Enter RCF Mail.
4. Log onto the server (Your username is your Unix account name. Your password is your email password, it is NOT your normal RCF Unix password.
5. If this is your first time accessing mail at the RCF, you will probably want to change your email password from the one that was given to you when your RCF accounts were created. If you want/need to change your email password, follow the instructions given in the Changing Your Email Password web page.
6. If this is your first time accessing mail at the RCF, you will also want to view/modify your .forward file on the RCF mail server. If you are reading mail via IMAP from the RCF IMAP server (rcf.rhic.bnl.gov), then the .forward file should be blank. To check or modify your .forward file follow the instructions given in the Forwarding Your Mail web page
7. Once logged in you will be able to read and send mail via the the web browser.
8. When you are done reading and sending mail, remember to sign off the system by clicking on " Sign Out ".
9. Also, remember to exit your browser.
